Howdie Folks!  Yesterday I went to the dentist to have my first root canal.  I hate going to the fuckin dentist.  I was told by friends that there is nothing to worry about.  No pain they said.  Turns out, my root was "calcified", which meant that the novacaine injection was not very effective and the process of chipping away at the root was slow and painful(7 on a scale of 10).  Upon reflecting on this situation, I realized that this scenario, where common procedures that are most often routine and painless, frequently were not routine and painless for my body!  Remember when I needed to have a catheter jammed up my penis.  Never fun by the way.  Well low and behold, there was a blockage somewhere along the path and it took 30 minutes to figure out how to make a 90 degree turn to the left and get the tube to the motherload.  Or how about the time I was having surgery for an acoustic nueroma and I was given a spinal tap(10 on a scale of 10).  Due to some wierdness in my spinal column, it took 8 tries with a humungous needle to get the correct placement. Even having morphine coursing thru my veins proved inadequate to my enjoying the experience.  And so, I have come to the conclusion; My body does not like intrusions!    More to come....no doubt.
